The M means More control, in More wind, so you will have More speed => The CHR M is a nervous fin that delivers sensitive downforce at low speed. But once launched into the towers, it delivers a lot of power and offers good lateral stability. It allows you to navigate while sliding on the back of the board. The base of the fin is widened to provide clear downforce and better control, while its thin head allows it to reach high speeds. X for eXperienced riders, or if you want to do slalom racing with your friends and be the first one to round the gybe. The fin is designed to give maximum power while remaining a small racing fin. Gasoil CHR-D
The shortest fin for your board
The Gasoil CHR-D, or the "Dual" is a very special fin. Use a 4-5 cm shorter fin for your board and it will perform the same as the one you are used to. Or, in light wind, use a Dual in the same size as you normally use and experience super lift and easy planing.
3 years of development have resulted in a new, radical fin that allows you to use a fin 4-5 cm shorter than you are used to. Less drag, more control, and higher speeds.

Development Background
For 3 years we have been developing a brand new type of Fin. It’s our Gasoil Dual fin. This fin is the perfect combination of 2 different fin profiles/shapes and allows you to use smaller fins in similar conditions. Please have a read about how it all started…
When comparing measurements of an "exceptional" mast according to Anders BRINGDAL with more common masts, we found that the exceptional mast was the one with the most strength and the greatest capacity to deform... These observations were the trigger for this project on which we started working in 2020.
So it's all based on an analysis of the consequences of the flexibility and strength of a fin. For a conventional construction, softening a fin means removing or moving layers of carbon to achieve this flexibility.
In use, the effect is immediate, the board rises above the water and glides better at all points of the sail, but there is a downside to this: driving on downwind points of the sail becomes more delicate. As long as we are sailing close-hauled with constant support, it remains pleasant.
However, when you go to the deep and wide end, everything becomes more complex. This is when the board accelerates and the support becomes more and more inconstant. All the support is based on a support that deforms and absorbs energy and this is where it gets complicated. Maintaining a good attitude and staying on course calls for unavoidable rider skills, but there is still a good deal of uncertainty...
In order to remedy this recurring problem, we have created the DUAL. With its innovative shape and structure, I would even say unprecedented, this fin has the ability to deform significantly in order to produce maximum lift, while retaining the power to return to its initial position by sending a clear and firm return impulse in order to erase the effects of fuzziness that can be felt at downwind speeds. In addition, we have equipped the DUAL with the most efficient profile, the CHR X. In terms of outline, it is very much inspired by the CHR M for its quiet side, but we have added a little more surface area at the bottom of the fin to increase the lift and the dynamic work of the fin.
After a year of various tests and comparisons on the water with very different riders, it turns out that :

It is possible to fit boards from 70l to 140l.

Not suitable for speed guns because at the moment we can't make it shorter than 26cm. For sizes above 45cm (tests on race boards with drifts are planned).

The support is healthy and due to the flexibility does not emit violent returns, erasing the shocks of the chop. The floats sail high on the water which considerably reduces the drag of the floats.

Very good upwind performance. The fin lifts strongly so the board stays well above the chop.

Very pleasant in the curves for maneuvers and jibes. The outline is offset to the rear for easy maneuvering and changes of direction.

Control at downwind speeds is greatly improved. It is much easier to control the float attitude. The strength of the blade provides a clean landing and instantaneous return.

The DUAL is consistent underfoot and provides support from the start. The fin is powerful under acceleration, so much so that we were able to reduce the length of the fin by 3 to 5 cm compared to the sizes normally used.

On the TUTTLE heel, for your information, we have indicated the actual size of the fin, and next to it we have added a virtual size 5cm longer.
Reducing the length of the fin has the effect of reducing the wetted surface, thus minimizing friction and reducing drag. This results in better performance. Of course, this is not without consequences, it is obvious that with a smaller fin, starting will be more delicate than with a larger fin. But as soon as your foot is in the front footstrap everything falls into place and you can settle into a committed position.
